Something has happened to your registry ans it may be a virus or a malware.
first run regedit (click on the start, then click run and then type “regedit” and hit Enter)
the registry Editor program will be opened. (maybe after running the regedit, you get the same message. in that case you have to rename your regedit.exe file in the windows directory to a “.com” file. go to command prompt and go to windows directory, then type “ren regedit.exe regedit.com” then hit Enter. now again run regedit)
Now in regedit, in the left pan tree, go to the key named: “HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT” and open it, then go to key named : “exefile” open it, open “shell”, open “open”, click on command. now in the right pan, you should have a “string value” named “(Default)” with the type of “REG_SZ” and the value of (”%1″ %*)
note that the value should have the double-quotes.
if it’s something else, double-click on it, and change the value. click ok, and close the regedit window.
now, everything should work fine. if so, you have to check your computer for a virus or malware.
